Wiltshire and Willey - The Background
During the 80's, Kevin Willey and Jim Wiltshire were both self employed electricians working independently of each other in the Andover area. It was when Kevin approached Jim, originally to see if could help him out with some up coming work, that they began working together on an informal basis. They regularly helped each other out until the time came that they were both too busy to continue helping each other out!In 1983 they decided to go ahead and merge their businesses to begin trading as "Wiltshire and Willey". Jim's business had been predominately commercial and agricultural and Kevin's mainly domestic. The business grew and after 15 years Wiltshire and Willey became an incorporated in 1997.
In 2005 Kevin and Jim put their business up for sale. This was a decision brought about by their desire to develop the Company further, with the support of a cash investor who would assist in designated areas, such as the increasing emphasis on health and safety and regulatory reforms such as Part P. On a chance meeting with Gordon Green, Director of Wessex Electricals, they mentioned that the business was for sale and asked if The Wessex Group would be interested in an acquisition. form that moment on the plans moved on.
In August 2005 Wiltshire and Willey became part of the Wessex Group. Wiltshire and Willey are still very much a recognised name in the Andover area with the back up of The Wessex Group who assist and support with the day to day running of the administration and other support functions such as IT, and Health and Safety.
